The Swedish video-artist and animator Magnus Wallin is educated at Valand School of Fine Art in Gothenburg and in Copenhagen at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He has participated in numerous shows, both national and international once, such as in Berlin, New York, Mexico City and Kanasawa (Japan).
Magnus Wallin’s work springs from a fascination for the aesthetics in computer games. His artistic engagements lies in the depictions of the human body; how it is portrayed and percieved in the modern western society. He often focuses on the discussion of what’s normal and what’s said to be abnormal. Who is the beauty and who is the beast? In the video ”Skyline” (2001) athletic male bodies fall into peices in what looks like an anatomic theatre. Magnus Wallin lives and works in Malmö.
